Lifeaz AED Battery Installation Guide

Checking the Battery Type

When you receive your Lifeaz AED, the batteries will be in a separate pouch. There are two types of batteries:

  • Pre-connected battery units
  • Separate batteries requiring manual connection

Connecting the Batteries

For separate batteries:

  1. Open the packaging and remove the batteries.
  2. Identify the two wires – one for the AED connection and another to join the batteries.
  3. Push the battery connectors together until you hear a click.
  4. Gently pull to ensure a secure connection.

Installing the Batteries in the AED

Follow these steps to insert the batteries:

  1. Turn the AED upside down and locate the battery compartment.
  2. Use a screwdriver (crosshead or flat-bladed) to remove the four screws.
  3. Carefully lift the compartment cover and set it aside.
  4. Position the batteries inside the compartment, ensuring they fit correctly.

Connecting the Power Plug

The battery plug has two pins and a locking clip to ensure a secure connection. To connect:

  • Align the plug with the connector inside the AED.
  • Insert the plug firmly until it clicks into place.
  • Ensure that cables are neatly positioned to avoid trapping them in the case.

Securing the Battery Cover

  1. Check that the blue seal around the compartment is clean and intact.
  2. Place the cover back and align it correctly.
  3. Ensure no cables are trapped before securing the cover.
  4. Use the screwdriver to tighten all screws securely.

Final Checks

To confirm successful installation:

  • Run your finger around the cover to check for gaps.
  • Take a photo of the installed batteries for reference.
  • Use a label or permanent marker to record the installation date.
  • Turn the AED on to verify the battery is functional.

Testing the AED

Turn the AED on and check for the power light indicator:

  • If the unit powers on and gives voice prompts, the installation is successful.
  • If there are error messages, refer to the troubleshooting guide.

Once verified, turn off the AED, close the lid, and it is now ready for use.
